Int’l Istanbul Film Festival to show ‘Until Tomorrow’

Iranian director Ali Asgari’s ‘Until Tomorrow’ is to vie at the Int’l Istanbul Film Festival in Turkey.

Iranian director Ali Asgari’s feature film ‘Until Tomorrow’ has been shortlisted for the 41st International Istanbul Film Festival in Turkey.

Produced by filmmaker/actress Niki Karimi, the Iranian-French-Qatari movie will be screened at the non-competition category of the Istanbul fest.

“Student Fereshteh has to hide her illegitimate baby for one night from her parents who turn up for a surprise visit. Her friend Atefeh helps her. They embark on an odyssey through Tehran during which they must carefully weigh up who their allies are,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The cast list includes Sadaf Asgari, Ghazal Shojaee, Babak Karimi, Amir-Reza Ranjbaran, Nahal Dashti, and Mohammad Heidari.

‘Until Tomorrow’ marked its world premiere at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) in Germany.

The International Istanbul Film Festival is the first and oldest international film festival in Turkey.

The festival aims “to encourage the development of cinema in Turkey and to promote films of quality in the Turkish cinema market,” writes the official website of the event.

The 2022 edition of the Turkish festival will be held on April 13-21.
